Molly Smith, MS, LPC

Meet Molly

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in your own thoughts, you’re not alone.

Many people come to therapy unsure of where to start — whether it’s constant worry, stress that feels hard to manage, or a life change that’s left you feeling ungrounded. Therapy can feel vulnerable and challenging, but it can also bring relief, clarity, and even moments of lightness along the way.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where you can show up exactly as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting.

You May Be Navigating…

I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, substance use recovery, and life transitions.

Many of the individuals I support are moving through significant turning points.. times that can feel disorienting, overwhelming, or filled with uncertainty.

Transitions can take many forms, including:

  • The end of a relationship

  • A career change

  • Recovery from addiction

  • Becoming a parent

  • Entering a new stage of life

  • Unexpected changes that shift your sense of direction

Even positive changes can bring stress, self-doubt, and a sense of losing your footing.

During these times, it’s common to feel overwhelmed, ungrounded, or unsure of who you are becoming. Therapy offers a space to slow down, process what has changed, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and stability.

What Therapy Can Help With

In our work together, we may focus on:

  • Navigating major life transitions and identity shifts

  • Processing grief, loss, and unexpected life changes

  • Healing from trauma and complex past experiences

  • Building healthier coping strategies for anxiety and stress

  • Strengthening self-awareness and emotional regulation

  • Supporting substance use recovery and relapse prevention

  • Rebuilding trust in yourself and your decision-making

Therapy can help you better understand your experiences while also developing practical tools that support long-term change and stability.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is trauma-informed and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Relapse Prevention

I tailor therapy to each individual, recognizing that no two people, and no two healing journeys, are the same.

Some sessions may focus on processing difficult experiences or exploring patterns that no longer serve you. Other times, we may focus on building practical skills to help you navigate stress, relationships, and everyday challenges more effectively.

In recovery-focused work, we look not only at behaviors, but also at the underlying emotional experiences, triggers, and patterns that contribute to them. Together, we work toward developing healthier coping strategies, strengthening resilience, and creating a life that feels more stable and aligned with your values.

A Supportive Space for Change

Throughout this process, my goal is to provide a space that is honest, grounded, and supportive, where you can work through difficult moments while also finding room for growth, perspective, and hope.

You don’t have to navigate it all on your own!
